The role involves assisting with patient flow, performing non‑vet‑tech procedures, and offering client education on preventive care.

Responsibilities

• Ensure pets, clients, and associates are safe.
• Assist veterinarians and vet techs with examinations, procedures, and patient care.
• Maintain patient flow and keep treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs clean and organized.
• Communicate with veterinarians and vets techs.
• Carry out or set up procedures that do not require vet or vet tech assistance.
• Educate clients about Banfield’s Optimum Wellness Plans and the importance of preventive care.
• Mentor other members of the hospital team.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA‑approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to perform all required skills of NAVTA‑approved veterinary assistant programs at a level that aids in practice efficiency.

Compensation

Hourly rate range: $17.60 – $22.49. The specific rate will be determined based on experience, skill level, and education, and may vary by location.
