Job summary

Lake City Animal Health and Wellness Center in Warsaw, IN, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our full-service team. You will perform pet restraint, triage patients, collect and analyze lab samples, assist with imaging, and support nursing care and anesthesia.

Candidates with at least 1 year of experience, strong communication, and a desire to grow professionally will fit well. We offer comprehensive benefits and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• One year of Veterinary Assistant experience preferred.
• Compassionate, calm, team player and strong communicator.
• Ability to properly restrain pets.
• Experience with sample collection, lab tests, radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring is a bonus.
• Self-starter with desire to advance knowledge and skills.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

• An experienced Veterinary Assistantwith a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.
• Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, andanesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.

Additional Information

Pay Range: $18-$19 per hour
