Powell Veterinary Center on Powell Blvd is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join Thrive Pet Healthcare in a busy general practice. You will support doctors, assist with treatments, and help maintain smooth patient flow.

This role offers Monday–Friday hours with no weekends, opportunities to grow skills, and a collaborative team culture that values client service and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of veterinary clinical experience preferred.
• Strong communication and client service skills.
• Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
• Assist with treatments, procedures, diagnostics, and patient care in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns, medications, preventive care, and Thrive Membership options.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.
• Obtain patient histories and update medical charts.
• Utilize safe animal handling and restraint techniques.
• Help maintain clean, organized, and sterile treatment, laboratory, and exam room areas.
• Assist with admitting and discharging patients and providing excellent client communication throughout their visit.

We're looking for a compassionate, motivated Veterinary Assistant who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is eager to grow their skills while supporting both appointments and procedures.

Compensation is negotiable based on experience and credentials, with pay starting at $21 per hour. The actual rate offered will be based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
