Job summary

We Care Animal Hospital in Wisconsin is seeking a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our supportive team. The role offers full-time hours from 9 AM to 5 PM with rotating Saturdays and no nights or holidays.

  • Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant in a fast-paced clinic.
  • Strong client communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Triage patients and obtain thorough histories, vital signs, and patient assessments.
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and procedures.
  • Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
  • Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection.
  • Run in-house laboratory testing (CBCs, chemistry, urinalysis, cytology, fecal testing).
  • Support surgical and dental procedures, including preparation, monitoring, recovery, and instrument care.
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and provide compassionate nursing care.
  • Educate clients regarding medications, discharge instructions, preventive care, and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and support efficient daily workflow.
