Job summary

New England Veterinary Clinic & Pet Resort is seeking a full-time Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our busy, team-driven hospital. You’ll assist veterinarians, support patient intake, and help maintain clean, well-organized clinics while delivering compassionate care to pets and their families.

Qualifications

  • Previous veterinary assisting or animal care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care and procedures.
  • Support patient intake by gathering medical histories and taking vital signs.
  • Prepare patients and exam rooms for appointments.
  • Safely and compassionately handle and restrain animals of different sizes and temperaments.
  • Administer medications and vaccines as directed by a veterinarian.
  • Prepare treatment areas, instruments, and supplies for procedures.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly sterilized clinical spaces.
  • Help explain treatment plans, medications, and follow-up instructions to clients.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist with basic clerical responsibilities.
  • Support the hospital team in keeping appointments and daily workflows running smoothly.
  • Help ensure every patient feels safe, comfortable, and cared for throughout their visit.
