Job summary

APC Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant for a part-time role to join a fast-paced clinic dedicated to high-quality care for pets and their families.

You will assist veterinarians, restrain animals during exams, administer meds, and perform lab work and radiographs while educating owners on proper care and nutrition. A positive attitude and teamwork are essential to thrive in this patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of Veterinary Assistant experience.
  • Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • A compassionate and caring attitude toward animals.
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Availability to work alternating weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians in providing care for animals.
  • Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
  • Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
  • Take and develop X-rays.
  • Clean and maintain examination rooms and equipment.
  • Educate pet owners on proper animal care and nutrition.
  • Help maintain an efficient workflow in a busy veterinary environment.

Role: Veterinary Assistant
Status: Part-time
Salary: $14.00-$15.50 per hour
Schedule: 4 days per week with rotating weekends
