Job summary

Academy Animal Hospital in Baltimore is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join a friendly, energetic team. This part-time role supports veterinarians and technicians with daily operations, patient care, and client communication, while fitting a balanced schedule.

You’ll contribute to a positive clinic culture, maintain organized treatment areas, and participate in growth opportunities, with a focus on compassionate patient care and teamwork.

  • Previous Veterinary Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support veterinarians and technicians with patient care and daily hospital operations.
  • Assist with patient restraint, treatments, and procedures.
  • Safely and compassionately handle patients of varying sizes and temperaments.
  • Assist with wellness appointments and patient care throughout the day.
  • Help prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient care.
  • Assist with sample collection and basic diagnostic procedures based on experience.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and team members.
  • Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and hospital spaces clean, organized, and well stocked.
  • Deliver compassionate care to patients and exceptional service to clients.
  • Jump in wherever needed to help maintain an efficient daily workflow.

Schedule: 3 days per week with rotating Saturdays
