Job summary

Alliance Animal Health in Bridgeport, CT seeks a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our growing practice. You will assist veterinarians and technicians, restrain and handle animals, prepare treatment areas, collect samples, and maintain medical records in a team-oriented environment.

The role requires 1 year of veterinary experience (preferred), excellent communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary experience preferred (1 year minimum)

• Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
• Comfortable working with animals of different sizes and temperaments

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with examinations and treatments

• Clean and disinfect kennels, equipment, and treatment areas
• Assist with animal care, feeding, walking, and monitoring
• Collect, prepare and perform laboratory samples as directed
• Assist with radiographs and ultrasounds
• Help maintain accurate medical records
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients (in-person and over the phone)
• Provide support during procedures and appointments
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment
• Perform other duties as needed to support the veterinary team

Pay Range: $18-$21/hr
