Job summary

The University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a 3-year residency in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology. The program offers broad exposure to diagnostic service, teaching, and board preparation, preparing residents for ACVP board certification.

The position is primarily in-person, with minimal remote components, and involves work in the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and teaching activities for veterinary students.

Qualifications

  • Requires a DVM degree or an equivalent degree by July 1, 2027.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Individuals who graduated from a non-English speaking program should provide GRE and TOEFL scores.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in diagnostic activities of the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, including necropsy examinations and histopathologic evaluation.
  • Develop and apply skills in veterinary anatomic pathology through supervised evaluation of a diverse caseload.
  • Collaborate with faculty pathologists, diagnosticians, and laboratory personnel in case review and diagnostic decision-making.
  • Assist with instruction in veterinary student pathology laboratories and guide senior students during necropsy rotations.
  • Engage in board preparation and professional development activities toward ACVP board certification.
