Job summary

Mississippi State University invites applications for a three-year residency in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology within the College of Veterinary Medicine. The program is housed in the Department of Pathobiology and Population Medicine and the Diagnostic Laboratory Services, beginning July 1, 2027.

Residents work with seven board-certified anatomic pathologists and two clinical pathologists, gaining experience in autopsies, biopsy interpretation, teaching, and scholarly activity.

Qualifications

• DVM degree from AVMA-accredited or listed veterinary school.
• Mississippi licensure required (NAVLE before graduation).
• Candidates may need PAVE or ECFVG certification if not AVMA-accredited.

Responsibilities

• Perform animal autopsies and read surgical biopsies.
• Teach veterinary students in didactic and clinical settings.
• Contribute case material to scholarly publications and presentations.
• Collaborate with board-certified pathologists and other faculty.
