Job summary

New England Center and Home for Veterans is seeking an SSVF Rapid Re-Housing Program Manager to lead Stabilization Case Managers in delivering rapid re-housing and stabilization services to Veterans transitioning from homelessness to permanent housing. The role emphasizes Housing First, Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Informed Care, with team training and process development.

The position primarily serves Boston, MA, with weekly travel to NECHV’s Haverhill, MA office.

Qualifications

• BA in Human Services related field required.
• 4+ years of supervisory experience, required.
• 5+ years’ experience with Veteran population, mental health and substance use disorders, subsidized housing and/or homelessness.
• Understanding of and commitment to Housing First, Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma Informed Care.
• Strong case management and housing search and navigation skills and understanding of community-based resources and how to proficiently navigate these resources.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate professionally.
• Proficiency with electronic databases and computers.
• Strong crisis intervention skills.
• Flexible self-starter with strong analytical skills.
• Knowledge of military culture (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of Stabilization Case Managers ensuring services align with SSVF grant and agency protocols.
• Coordinate housing search and stabilization services to connect Veterans to permanent housing.
• Oversee caseload assignment and ensure rapid client connection to case managers and health navigators.
• Ensure SSVF training is completed and documented for all staff.
• Train staff on housing search, subsidized housing applications, and landlord communications.
• Coordinate landlord recruitment and maintain a pool for rapid placement.
• Develop expertise in the SSVF Program Guide and ensure adherence by the team.
• Supervise housing inspections and train staff on the process.
• Meet weekly with leadership to review staff performance and caseloads.
• Collaborate to provide housing search, case management, health navigation, and prevention services.
• Review and audit documentation for funding compliance and reporting.
• Prepare for site visits and audits with leadership and various teams.
• Maintain records and databases for reporting outputs and outcomes.
• Assist in crisis situations and provide direct stabilization services as needed.
