Job summary

Worcester State University is seeking a part-time Military Affairs and Veterans Services Program Coordinator to support military veterans, active duty service members, reservists, ROTC cadets, and their families across all undergraduate and graduate programs. As the primary campus contact, you will drive recruitment, retention, academic success, and overall well-being for military-connected students.

Qualifications

• Prior military experience and/or knowledge of military regulations and benefits.
• Demonstrated understanding of military culture and transition challenges for student Veterans.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including public speaking and advising a diverse population.

Responsibilities

• Cultivates a welcoming environment for Veterans and military-connected students through programming and outreach.
• Provides guidance on governmental educational benefits and enrollment processes.
• Partners with departments to strengthen military-connected recruitment and transfer pathways.
• Offers individualized support by connecting students with resources and services.
• Designs and executes MAVS events, orientation sessions, and networking opportunities.
• Serves as VA Work Study site supervisor including contracts and time sheets.
• Oversees Military and Veteran Student Lounge operations and supplies.
• Liaises with Worcester ROTC programs across all branches.
• Maintains relationships with veteran agencies and community officials.
• Coordinates workshops for career readiness and academic achievement.
• Fulfills Jeanne Clery Act reporting as Campus Security Authority.
