Job summary

JVS SoCal is seeking a Housing Navigator to support Veterans experiencing homelessness by locating housing options and guiding them through the entire housing search, application, leasing, and move-in process. The role involves fieldwork, navigating landlord partnerships, and providing stabilization services across Los Angeles County.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, housing instability, or Veterans.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in public or social services.
• Experience with Veterans is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of community resources and homeless services systems.
• Ability to engage clients using Trauma-Informed Care principles and client-centered service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Complete participant intakes, needs assessments, and housing preference forms.
• Develop Individual Action Plans (IAPs) for housing stability.
• Accompany Veterans to housing appointments, interviews, and unit viewings.
• Provide housing stabilization services: life skills coaching, budgeting, transportation planning, lease education, self-advocacy.
• Maintain weekly contact with Veterans and document progress within HMIS.
