Job summary

Virginia.gov is seeking a Groundskeeper at the Sitter-Barfoot Veterans Care Center to perform landscape and grounds maintenance, including lawn and plant care, irrigation support, and routine repairs. Qualifications

• Must have valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Experience in lawn care and grounds maintenance.
• Ability to plan assigned work and gather necessary materials and tools.
• Experience in light maintenance repairs (bulbs, filters, etc).

Responsibilities

• Keep the property free of leaves and debris.
• Maintain outside trash cans.
• Maintain all interior plants.
• Inspect lawn, flowers, shrubs and trees for pests and take appropriate control actions.
• Weed and thin flowerbeds.
• Connect sprinkler equipment and water lawns, shrubs and beds.
• Maintain tools and keep work areas clean, safe and orderly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Department.
