Job summary

Loyal Source Government Services seeks a Physician Assistant to perform Compensation & Pension examinations for Veterans applying for VA disability benefits. The role includes reviewing medical records, performing focused exams, and rendering objective opinions. Charting from home may be required and travel to other clinics is up to 10%.

The PA must possess an accredited PA degree, an active US license, and BLS certification. Prior MDE training or military/veteran familiarity is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant program with active US license.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant.
• Basic Life Support certification current.
• Military experience or familiarity with veteran communities preferred.
• Specialized training in Medical Disability Evaluations is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to perform thorough medical assessments and provide objective opinions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical disability examinations with review of history and focused physicals (10% travel).
• Review and analyze medical records and diagnostic results for complete understanding of the veteran's condition.
• Provide objective medical opinions on disability impact based on findings.
• Manage cases: organize workload, submit examination findings, and coordinate with QA.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to obtain needed information.
• Document findings in VA-compliant reports per guidelines.
• Coordinate with Loyal Source departments to meet deadlines.
• Ensure timely submissions and confirm availability for exams.
• Adhere to VA regulations and maintain high-quality evaluation standards.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and complete annual compliance training.
• Stay updated on VA MDE program requirements.
