Job summary

Loyal Source Government Services seeks a licensed Physician Assistant to conduct VA Compensation & Pension examinations for disability claims. You will review medical records, perform focused physicals, and render objective opinions, with about 10% travel to other clinics.

Charting from home may be required; strong medical reasoning and HIPAA compliance are essential. The role requires an active PA license, at least 1 year of experience, BLS certification, and the ability to work independently

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Valid, unrestricted Physician Assistant license authorizing practice in all U.S. jurisdictions.
At least 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant.
Preferred experience in conducting medical disability examinations or related field.
Basic Life Support certification and renewals.
Preferred previous military experience or familiarity with military/veteran communities.
Completion of specialized training in Medical Disability Evaluations, occupational health, or related areas.
Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive medical assessments, interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate evidence-based opinions.
Compassionate and empathetic approach toward patients.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive medical disability examinations, including reviewing medical history, performing physical examinations, and assessing the impact of disabilities on daily life and functional abilities. 10% travel is required to other LSGS Clinics.
Review and analyze medical records, diagnostic test results, and other pertinent documentation to gain a comprehensive understanding of the veteran’s medical history and health condition.
Render objective medical opinions based on findings, diagnostics, and record review regarding the extent of the veteran’s health issues and their impact on work and daily activities.
Understand and work within the case management system, organizing workload, submitting examination findings, and corresponding with the Quality Assurance Team.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, specialists, and experts as needed to obtain additional medical information.
Document examination findings accurately in medical opinions and relevant recommendations in clear, concise reports following VA guidelines and contractual obligations.
Partner with all Loyal Source departments to gain support and use resources for timely task completion.
Ensure effective time management, submission, and confirmation of availability for all C&P exams.
Adhere to all laws, regulations, and standards related to disability examinations, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and quality.
Collaborate with the QA team to submit thorough and accurate examinations.
Maintain compliance with VA training requirements and stay updated on all VA MDE program requirements.
Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA and privacy protocols.
