Job summary

Central Nebraska Community Action Partnership, Inc. seeks a position to assist homeless applicants with Social Security disability benefits and VA/healthcare access, coordinating with SSA, VA, and DHHS.

The role expands resources, enhances public relations, and ensures forms are completed accurately and timely. Responsibilities include conducting quarterly region trainings, guiding disability and VA applications, maintaining files, attending required trainings, and educating clients on

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree in human services or related field preferred.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• 1–3 years of experience in human services or related field.
• Experience with public speaking (presentations, meetings, trainings).

Responsibilities

• Conduct three presentations per month within the service area.
• Assist clients in processing disability and VA applications.
• Ensure files and paperwork are complete for families participating in SOAR.
• Attend training on SSI/SSDI benefits and healthcare navigator trainings.
• Create and hold a Region 2 steering committee meeting quarterly.
• Educate applicants on disability and medical processes.
• Adhere to CNCAP policies and promote the program positively.
