Job summary

Mount Hood Community College seeks a Veteran Services Support Specialist to assist military-connected students, including veterans and VA beneficiaries. You will welcome students, manage intake, schedule appointments, and route inquiries to appropriate campus resources, ensuring smooth navigation of campus processes.

Responsibilities include documenting contacts, maintaining records, and supporting basic reporting for grant activities, with an emphasis on confidentiality and respectful service

Qualifications

Two years of experience providing direct support to student veterans or military-connected students
Experience using computers and standard office technology (email, scheduling, data entry)
Associate degree or equivalent education/experience

Responsibilities

Provide welcoming, student-centered support to military-connected students visiting Veteran Services
Offer appointment-based and drop-in support, document contacts, and connect students with internal and external resources
Explain general processes and connect students to the School Certifying Official for certification questions
Maintain records, logs, and basic reporting data for program activity and grant reporting
Perform other duties as assigned
