Job summary

U.S.VETS in Kapolei, Hawaii seeks a Veteran Service Assistant to support daily residential services for veterans. You will report to the Veteran Service Coordinator or Lead Veteran Service Assistant and help deliver basic services such as shelter, food and hygiene while maintaining a therapeutic, sober environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating with clinical staff, handling client mail, assisting with move-in/out, conducting safety rounds, and documenting bed checks and incidents.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience with programs and homeless populations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with residential staff.
• Valid driver’s license; willingness to drive company vehicles and complete training.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering basic services (shelter, food, hygiene) to veterans at the facility.
• Maintain a harmonious atmosphere by communicating with clinical staff and sustaining a therapeutic community.
• Assist with client mail handling and move-in/move-out processes.
• Submit incident reports and address client issues promptly to ensure continuity of services.
• Conduct safety rounds and implement safety and emergency procedures.
