Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a GPD Service Center Outreach Coordinator in Champaign to build relationships with community organizations and engage Veterans at risk of homelessness. You will coordinate referrals, support prescreen eligibility, and assist Veterans in accessing on-site and community services.

Responsibilities include outreach to Veteran groups, coordinating with VA staff, and ensuring program compliance while promoting safety and dignity for participants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field or lived experience with marginalized populations.
• Advanced degree in social work, counseling, or human services is ideal.
• Knowledge of VA homeless programs (GPD/SSVF/HUD-VASH) and benefits systems.

Responsibilities

• Identify locations frequented by Veterans and conduct outreach.
• Engage and build rapport with Veterans and families.
• Coordinate meetings and referrals with prescreen teams and VA partners.
• Assist in documenting service delivery and program outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with Safe from Harm and program policies.
