Job summary

U.S.VETS in Prescott, AZ is seeking a Veteran Service Assistant to provide daily support and maintain a safe, respectful living environment for veterans. This frontline role involves delivering meals, basic supplies, and assisting with move-ins and move-outs, always prioritizing dignity and client-first care.

You will work closely with clinical and residential staff to uphold safety protocols, document incidents, and support facility upkeep and routine monitoring.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with veterans, individuals in recovery, or similar populations preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain composed in high-stress situations and apply sound judgment.
• Commitment to fostering a safe, sober, and respectful environment.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Valid driver''s license preferred (company vehicle use may require additional training and insurance eligibility).

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily essential services such as meals, hygiene supplies, and shelter with dignity and care.
• Support veterans with their needs, concerns, and transitions—including move-ins and move-outs—while maintaining a client-first approach.
• Respond to and help prevent verbal and physical altercations; document incidents and report to site leadership promptly.
• Implement and uphold all safety protocols, including bed checks, emergency response actions, and room inspections to ensure a clean and hazard-free facility.
• Work closely with clinical and residential staff to maintain a therapeutic and supportive environment.
• Assist with facility cleanliness, maintenance, inventory supply needs, and preparation for inspections.
• Maintain logs, reports, and documentation of services, safety checks, and client interactions.
