Job summary

Loyal Source seeks a Nurse Practitioner to conduct Compensation & Pension examinations for Veterans, reviewing medical history, performing focused exams, and rendering objective opinions. The role includes travel to other clinics and compliance with VA requirements.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently are required, with charting from home possibly needed. The position emphasizes HIPAA compliance and collaboration with QA teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program with NP licensure in the United States.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Experience in conducting medical disability examinations or related field preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Military experience or familiarity with veteran communities preferred.
• Completion of specialized training in Medical Disability Evaluations advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive medical disability examinations, reviewing history, conducting focused exams, and assessing impact on daily life.
• Review and analyze medical records and diagnostic results to understand health conditions.
• Render objective medical opinions regarding disability extent and work capacity.
• Maintain case management duties, organize workload, and submit examination findings to QA.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to gather additional information as needed.
• Document examination findings clearly following VA guidelines and formats.
