Job summary

United Way of Central Alabama seeks a Pensacola-based outreach coordinator to support the Priority Veteran program, helping veterans access safe, affordable housing and building partnerships with landlords and providers.

You will host landlord events, conduct community outreach across Florida counties, and collaborate with case management to locate housing while ensuring program guidelines are followed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field.
• Experience with HUD, VA, and other voucher/affordable housing programs preferred.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the service area.

Responsibilities

• Communicate the Priority Veteran program to landlords, clients, and communities across Florida.
• Develop a monthly outreach plan and document all activities.
• Build a network of landlords to rent affordable units to veterans.
• Assist case management to locate safe, affordable housing.
• Conduct eligibility screenings and intakes in the community, including shelters and shelters.
• Maintain a database of available rental units and landlord forms.
• Host landlord appreciation/recruitment events.
• Recruit veteran clients through outreach to diverse community sectors.
• Represent Priority Veteran at community groups and homeless coalitions.
• Demonstrate knowledge of PV and SSVF program guidelines and veteran homelessness.
