Job summary

Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) is seeking a Veteran Housing and Benefits Specialist to provide housing placement, support and case management for eligible homeless veteran families. You will work under the Program Manager to connect veterans with housing resources and community services.

Responsibilities include outreach, intake, coordination with landlords, and ensuring documentation compliance while supporting families through the housing-first model.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus two years providing psychiatric rehabilitation services.
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of health care and social service resource systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide housing placement, support and case management for eligible homeless veteran families.
• Assist veterans in accessing community resources and completing applications.
• Conduct home visits and coordinate with landlords and service providers.
• Represent MHALA at housing-related meetings and maintain a professional network.
• Maintain program documentation and data collection per agency standards.
