Job summary

The Maryland Department of Labor is seeking a Disabled Veterans Outreach Program / Local Veterans Employment Representative to help veterans and eligible spouses overcome employment barriers. Responsibilities include case management, outreach, and coordinating with employers to promote career opportunities and training programs.

The role requires independent work, travel may be needed, and reimbursement for personal vehicle use is available per state travel policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in workforce development or veterans services preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive services to eligible veterans and qualifying spouses to help obtain or retain employment.
• Assess job seekers' skills and needs using the automated system.
• Refer qualified job seekers to job openings and share labor market information.
• Engage with employers to promote veteran employment and training programs.
• Conduct outreach and employer visits to provide staffing and information services.
