Job summary

The Maryland Department of Labor is seeking an energetic DVOP/LVER veteran to assist veterans and spouses with qualifying employment barriers while visiting the American Job Center. The ideal candidate will have case management experience and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities include counseling and referring job seekers, coordinating with employers, and disseminating labor market information.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
• Experience: None.
• Notes allow substitution of workforce development experience for education.

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive services to veterans and eligible spouses to obtain or retain employment.
• Assess skills and needs and register applicants in the system.
• Identify job matches and refer qualified job seekers to openings.
• Engage with unions, apprenticeship programs, and businesses to promote employment.
• Conduct employer outreach via calls, emails, and site visits.
• Promote agency services, job fairs, and veteran incentive programs.
