Job summary

Loyal Source Government Services is seeking a Physician Assistant to perform Compensation & Pension examinations for Veterans applying for VA disability benefits. You will review medical records, conduct focused assessments, and render informed medical opinions based on the examination and record review.

Some travel and charting from home may be required. The role requires an active PA license, at least 1 year of PA experience, BLS certification, and the ability to work independently within VA

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program and hold an active PA license in the United States.
• BLS certification required, including renewals.
• Experience in medical disability examinations or related field preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States as a federal contractor.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Comprehensive Medical Disability Examinations for Veterans, including medical history review, focused physical examinations, and assessment of disability impact on daily living.
• Review and analyze medical records, diagnostic tests, and documentation to understand clinical status.
• Render objective medical opinions based on exam findings and record review.
• Maintain case management workflow, submit examination findings, and coordinate with Quality Assurance.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to obtain additional information when needed.
• Document examination findings clearly in reports per VA guidelines and contractual requirements.
• Coordinate with Loyal Source departments to meet deadlines and support service delivery.
• Manage scheduling and availability for C&P exams with effective time management.
• Ensure compliance with VA training requirements and HIPAA regulations.
