Job summary

Kiavets in Reno, NV is seeking Military Veterans with mechanical experience for the Automotive Service Technician position as part of the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP). The program offers a structured, one-year apprenticeship leading to certification, while providing training and support needed to become skilled automotive technicians.

Veterans will work full-time at a Kia dealership, learning to diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicles alongside experienced professionals. The program is GI Bill® approved, allowing for a Monthly Housing Allowance.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to complete background check and drug screening.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced dealership service environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
• Perform vehicle inspections and diagnostics.
• Complete repair orders and warranty documentation.
• Test drive vehicles and verify repair quality.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
