Job summary

Kiavets in Houston, TX is seeking Military Veterans with mechanical experience for the position of Automotive Service Technician. This role is part of the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP), designed to help Veterans transition into the automotive industry through hands-on training leading to Kia Service Technician certification.

The apprenticeship offers full-time employment, training, and support in a fast-paced dealership environment. Veterans may also receive a Monthly Housing Allowance throughout the apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills required.
• Prior experience in a mechanical or technical field preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment essential.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engines and transmissions.
• Perform vehicle inspections and make mechanical repairs.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors and maintain a safe work environment.

Skills

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Prior experience in a mechanical or technical field

Ability to work in a fast-paced dealership service environment

Education

Honorable Discharge from U.S. Military Service

Tools

Basic automotive maintenance or repair experience

Familiarity with diagnostic tools and hand tools
