Job summary

Walser Kia in Wayzata, MN is looking for Military Veterans with mechanical experience to start a career as an Automotive Service Technician. This role is part of the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP), designed to help Veterans transition into the automotive industry through hands-on experience and skills development.

Apprentices will gain the necessary tools and support to diagnose, service, and repair Kia vehicles, while receiving a Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) if eligible. Full-time employment with a participating Kia Retailer is provided.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a mechanical or technical field.
• Willingness to complete background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles.
• Perform vehicle inspections and diagnostics.
• Complete repair orders and warranty documentation.

Skills

Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Mechanical or technical field experience

Ability to work in a fast-paced dealership service environment

Education

Honorable Discharge from U.S. Military Service

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
