Job summary

Kia VTAP offers a one-year, competency-based apprenticeship designed specifically for Veterans, leading to Kia Service Technician certification.

Participants gain access to all tools, equipment, vehicles, and training needed to complete the apprenticeship, with full-time employment at a participating Kia Retailer and the potential to receive a GI Bill Monthly Housing Allowance during training.

Qualifications

• Honorable Discharge.
• Valid Driver's License with clean driving record.
• Experience in a technical or mechanical field.
• Willing to complete and pass drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components.
• Complete repair orders and warranty requests per Kia and Retailer policies and procedures.
• Test drive vehicles and diagnose and repair components using Kia diagnostic strategies and tools.
• Communicate with the shop foreman and service advisor to promote an optimal customer experience.
