Job summary

Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP) at a Kia Retailer invites qualified veterans to start a career as a Kia Certified Service Technician. The program provides hands-on training, access to all tools and vehicles, and a structured path to certification.

This one-year, GI Bill approved apprenticeship is paid as full-time employment, with the potential for a GI Bill Monthly Housing Allowance during training and a direct path to Kia service certification.

Qualifications

• Must have honorable discharge from military service.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Experience in a technical or mechanical field is required.
• Must be willing to complete and pass drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components.
• Complete repair orders and warranty requests in accordance with Kia and Retailer policies.
• Test drive vehicles and analyze, diagnose, and repair components using Kia diagnostic strategies and tools.
• Perform services and repairs in a timely fashion while communicating with the shop foreman and service advisor to ensure a positive customer experience.
