Job summary

Kia VTAP in the United States invites veterans to begin a career as Kia Service Technicians. The one-year competency-based apprenticeship leads to Kia Service Technician certification with full-time employment at a participating Kia Retailer.

The program provides access to tools, equipment, and training, plus the opportunity to apply for a substantial GI Bill Monthly Housing Allowance during the apprenticeship; candidates must have an honorable discharge, a valid driver's license, and mechanical

Qualifications

• Honorable Discharge required.
• Valid driver license from any state with clean driving record.
• Experience in a technical/mechanical field required.
• Willingness to complete and pass drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components.
• Complete repair orders and warranty requests per Kia and Retailer policies.
• Test drive vehicles and use Kia diagnostic strategies with special equipment to diagnose and repair components.
• Perform services and repairs in a timely fashion, communicating with shop foreman and service advisor to ensure a great customer experience.
