Job summary

Kia Retailers are offering skilled military Veterans the chance to begin a career as a Kia Certified Service Technician through VTAP. This one-year, competency-based apprenticeship leads to Kia Service Technician certification and is supported by a GI Bill program with access to tools, equipment, and training.

Applicants participate in a full-time apprenticeship with participating Kia Retailers and must meet eligibility criteria, including honorable discharge and driving record checks.

Qualifications

• Honorable Discharge is required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience in a technical/mechanical field is required.
• Willing to complete and pass drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components.
• Complete repair orders and warranty requests in accordance with Kia and Retailer policies and procedures.
• Test drive vehicles, and analyze, diagnose, and repair components and systems using Kia diagnostic strategies, special equipment, and tools.
• Perform services, diagnostics, and repairs in a timely fashion while communicating with the shop foreman and service advisor to promote an optimal customer experience.
