Job summary

Emergency Veterinary Services of Lisle is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced, emergency team in Lisle, IL. We welcome credentialed and non-credentialed technicians and provide a supportive environment with opportunities to gain emergency medicine experience.

Shifts are 4 weeknight shifts (7 hours) plus one weekend shift (12 hours) per week, with no overnight requirements. The position offers competitive pay ($23.00–$30.00/hour) based on experience and

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of veterinary technician experience required.
• CVT or credentialed technician preferred but not required.
• Strong technical and communication skills.
• Compassion for both patients and clients.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency setting.
• Dependable with strong teamwork skills.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and provide treatments for hospitalized patients.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing.
• Assist veterinarians with surgical procedures.
• Monitor anesthesia during procedures.
• Place IV catheters and perform blood draws.
• Take and position radiographs.
• Safely restrain patients for procedures and exams.
• Provide client communication and education.
• Communicate with referring veterinarians as needed.
• Assist with occasional reception duties.
• Maintain hospital cleanliness and organization.
• Support the team with additional duties as assigned.
