Position Overview
Licensed Veterinary Technician to support hospital operations by providing dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to patients and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Determine animal requirements by conducting examinations and interviews, reviewing care plans and records, completing laboratory tests and studies, and diagnostic imaging.
- Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medications, drugs, and vaccines, and bandaging and wrapping wounds.
- Support patient examinations and operations by assembling required supplies and instruments, securing and bringing patients to examination rooms, and restraining patients; aid as directed by the veterinarian.
- Apply full knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, pharmacology, specialized equipment usage, and specialized drug administration.
- Obtain and verify medications; ensure patients have food and water; clean patients’ rooms, cages, and equipment; observe patients for clinical signs of disease.
- Fill prescriptions and administer medications, including proper documentation and security of controlled drugs.
- Maintain a safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing instruments, sanitizing holding and operating areas, storing sterile supplies, verifying shelf life, following standards and procedures, and complying with regulations.
- Maintain medical records by documenting patients’ conditions and updates accurately and timely.
- Communicate patient status to owners as directed by the veterinarian.
- Maintain equipment by troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance and ordering repairs.
- Maintain inventory, place orders for supplies, and verify receipts.
- Participate in educational opportunities to update knowledge.
- Release patients to owners as directed, ensuring animals are clean and groomed.
- Follow oral and written directions.
- Perform additional duties assigned by Manager or practice.
Qualifications (Required)
- High school diploma or GED.
- Relevant experience in a veterinary environment successfully performing all duties of this position.
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) required.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience with horses professionally or personally.
- Experience with surgical monitoring, radiology, dental prophylaxis, and client education.
Schedule
- Full‑Time, rotating shifts.
- Approximately four 10‑hour shifts per week.
- One overnight shift per week required; shift differential applies.

Pay range: $21.35 – $26.09 USD.
