Job summary

Emergency Veterinary Services of Lisle in Lisle, IL is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join a fast-paced emergency team. Both credentialed and non-credentialed technicians are encouraged to apply; emergency experience is not required, but strong technical abilities and a willingness to learn are essential.

This role features Friday evening plus Saturday or Sunday day 12‑hour shifts, with no overnight shifts, and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of veterinary technician experience.
• CVT or credentialed technician preferred but not required.
• Strong technical and communication skills.
• Compassion for patients and clients.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency setting.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and provide treatments for hospitalized patients.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing.
• Assist veterinarians with surgical procedures.
• Monitor anesthesia during procedures.
• Place IV catheters and perform blood draws.
• Take and position radiographs.
• Safely restrain patients for procedures and exams.
• Provide client communication and education.
• Communicate with referring veterinarians as needed.
• Assist with occasional reception duties.
• Maintain hospital cleanliness and organization.
• Support the team with additional duties as assigned.

Compensation: $21.00 – $27.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Emergency Veterinary Services is a well-equipped small animal emergency hospital located in Lisle, IL. Our team is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality emergency care to pets when they need it most.

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys teamwork, and takes pride in delivering exceptional patient care.
