Job summary

Emergency Veterinary Services of Lisle seeks a veterinary technician (non-credentialed or credentialed) to join our fast-paced emergency team in Lisle, IL. Both credentialed and non-credentialed technicians are encouraged to apply; emergency experience is welcome but not required.

No overnight shifts; weekend availability is required. Compensation ranges from $23.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on experience and credentials, with shifts including four weeknights and one weekend shift per week.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of veterinary technician experience.
• CVT or credentialed technician preferred but not required.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor hospitalized patients and provide treatments.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and assist with surgeries.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor and provide treatments for hospitalized patients
• Perform in-house laboratory testing
• Assist veterinarians with surgical procedures
• Monitor anesthesia during procedures
• Place IV catheters and perform blood draws
• Take and position radiographs
• Safely restrain patients for procedures and exams
• Provide client communication and education
• Communicate with referring veterinarians as needed
• Assist with occasional reception duties
• Maintain hospital cleanliness and organization
• Support the team with additional duties as assigned
