Job summary

Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. seeks a credentialed Veterinary Technician to support Vetco Total Care full-service hospital patients and their owners. You will collaborate with veterinarians and hospital staff to provide exceptional medical care and patient comfort.

You will greet clients, assist during procedures, manage records, and help educate pet parents. This role requires compassion, teamwork, and strong communication in a busy veterinary setting.

Qualifications

• Must have completed credentialed veterinary technician education and state credentialing.
• At least 1 year of veterinary technician experience or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, record vital signs, and document visit in EMR.
• Assist veterinarians with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Perform patient restraint, collect lab samples, dispense medications as directed, and maintain medical records.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay test results, and manage inventory and records.
• Prepare patients for surgeries, monitor anesthesia, and discharge or transfer patients as needed.
• Provide in-hospital treatments, manage medications and IV therapies, and assist with patient care.
