Petco is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our Vetco Total Care full-service hospital team in Oregon. You will support veterinarians, care for patients, and assist with procedures while delivering exceptional client service.

Qualifications

• College or college-equivalent education as required to become a Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the state.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate and professional demeanor.
• Telephone and computer skills.
• Team player open to learning new techniques.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, obtain weight and vital signs, and record history in the EMR.
• Assist veterinarian with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Perform patient restraint, obtain/process lab samples, dispense medications as directed, and maintain EMR.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay test results, manage inventory and client/patient records.
• Prepare patients for procedures, monitor anesthesia, and assist with discharge or transfer.
• Provide in-hospital treatments and support feeding, hydration, and care as directed.
• Participate in training of new staff and disseminate knowledge as required.
• Maintain a clean hospital environment and adherence to maintenance schedules.
