Job summary

Shawnee Animal Hospital in Shawnee, OK is seeking a dedicated veterinary receptionist to join our team. This role welcomes candidates with transferable experience from human medical, urgent care, or high‑volume customer service environments who can provide friendly, professional support to clients and patients.

We offer structured onboarding and mentorship, 20–30 hours per week, 2–3 days plus rotating Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year front desk or customer service in medical or veterinary settings.
• Strong verbal and written communication, active listening, conflict resolution.
• Experience with appointment scheduling, phone systems, data entry, and POS.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients and patients at the front desk; confirm appointment details.
• Answer and manage a multi-line phone system; route inquiries.
• Process payments and schedule future appointments at checkout.
• Provide compassionate customer service to clients under stress.
• Enter data accurately and maintain organized records in the PMS.
• Communicate with clinical staff to relay messages and flag urgent needs.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming reception and waiting area.
