CityVet is now accepting applications for its Veterinarian Externship Program, offering third- and fourth-year DVM students hands-on clinical experience in a veterinarian-led practice environment. Externs work alongside experienced teams, gaining exposure to small animal medicine, surgery, client communication, and clinic operations.

The program emphasizes mentorship, autonomy, collaboration, and long-term career growth, with customizable externships to match individual clinical interests.

Qualifications

• Eligibility: 3rd and 4th-year DVM students at AVMA-accredited veterinary schools.
• Duration: Two-week externship blocks, with flexibility to accommodate university rotation requirements.
• Stipend: Competitive stipend, paid via direct deposit on the first Friday of the rotation.
• Housing: Housing is not provided; CityVet can share accommodation recommendations from prior externs.
• International students: Eligible if enrolled at an AVMA-accredited university and authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available at this time.
