CityVet is now accepting applications for its Veterinarian Externship Program, offering third- and fourth-year DVM students hands-on clinical experience in a veterinarian-led practice.

Externships are customizable and include mentorship, real-world clinical exposure, and insight into autonomy- and collaboration-focused practice models with two-week blocks and a competitive stipend. Housing is not provided, but accommodation recommendations are available from prior externs.

Qualifications

• 3rd or 4th-year DVM student at AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
• Two-week externship blocks with flexibility for rotation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Small animal general practice medicine and surgery.
• Client communication and case management.
• Collaboration with technicians and support staff.
• Exposure to clinic operations and team leadership.
• Mentorship from practicing veterinarians.
