Job summary

CityVet Externship Program invites third- and fourth-year DVM students to gain hands-on experience in a veterinarian-led practice environment. Externships are two-week blocks designed for mentorship, real-world clinical exposure, and insight into autonomy-driven, collaborative care models.

Participants will work with experienced teams in small animal medicine and surgery, provide client communication support, and learn clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Must be a 3rd or 4th-year DVM student at AVMA-accredited schools.
• Externships are two-week blocks with rotation requirements.
• Eligible international students must be authorized to work in the US; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside veterinary teams on clinical cases.
• Participate in client communication and case management.
• Gain exposure to clinic operations and team leadership.
• Receive mentorship from practicing veterinarians.
