Job summary

Trident Seafoods is seeking an Assistant Engineer to support the vessel's engines, boilers, deck machinery, and related systems. You will work under the Chief Engineer to ensure safe operation, preventive maintenance, and regulatory compliance aboard the vessel.

Requirements include at least 3 years as an Assistant Engineer on a similar sized vessel, advanced firefighting skills, current licenses or STCW endorsements, and First Aid/CPR.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 years as an Assistant Engineer on similar sized vessel.
• Advanced firefighting skills.
• Appropriate licenses/permits of trade (e.g., CG license of appropriate tonnage, STCW endorsement).
• Current First Aid and CPR cards.

Responsibilities

• Directs and oversees the functionality and safety of the vessel’s engines, boilers, deck machinery, electrical, hydraulic, refrigeration and sanitary systems.
• Leads capital projects scheduling, budgeting and compliance with codes and regulations.
• Oversees and establishes performance standards for all vessel systems and coordinates training to ensure compliance.
