Job summary

Union Special, LLC is seeking a skilled Vertical Machine Center Setup and Operator to join our production team in Huntley, IL. You will prepare VMCs, set up tooling, fixtures, and materials, and verify setups against blueprints.

You will operate and monitor machines, perform in-process inspections with calipers and micrometers, and document maintenance and adjustments. The role requires attention to detail, safety compliance, and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of VMC/CNC setup and operation experience.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T symbols.
• Knowledge of G-code programming.

Responsibilities

• Prepare VMC machines by selecting tools, fixtures, and materials.
• Input and adjust machine parameters based on specs and blueprints.

We are seeking a skilled Vertical Machine Center Setup and Operator to join our team. This role is essential to ensuring precision and efficiency in the production of components for our sewing machines.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Setup:

• Prepare Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines by selecting and installing appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials.
• Input and adjust machine parameters based on specifications and blueprints.
• Conduct first-article inspections to verify compliance with production requirements.

Operation and Monitoring:

• Operate VMC machines to produce parts meeting quality and productivity standards.
• Monitor operations to ensure proper machine functionality and identify issues.
• Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

• Conduct routine maintenance to optimize machine performance.
• Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, tool wear, and programming errors.
• Maintain detailed records of setups, adjustments, and maintenance activities.

Quality Assurance:

• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet company standards for quality and accuracy.
• Perform rework or touch-ups as needed.

Collaboration and Safety:

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• Knowledge of G-code programming and CNC machine operations.

Physical Requirements:
