Job summary

Viant Medical Inc. in New Hampshire is hiring a CNC Machinist to operate CNC machines and equipment for medical device manufacturing, ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

You will follow SOPs, document work on travelers and inspection reports, and perform in-process and dimensional inspections with gauges and microscopes to verify specifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a machine shop.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use measurement tools with quality awareness.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machinery and equipment used in the manufacture of products.
• Follow operating manuals, maintenance instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Document all work on inspection reports and travelers/work orders.
• Perform in-process inspection of parts and assemblies per drawings/work instructions.
• Conduct visual inspection using microscopes when required.
• Use gauges and inspection systems for dimensional checks.
• Adjust machine offsets and coordinates with supervision.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE; comply with lockout-tagout rules.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

Operate CNC machines and equipment used in the manufacturing of products and will work with other employees to effectively meet or exceed expectations for product quality and production rates.

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate CNC machinery and equipment used in the manufacture of products
• Follow operating manuals, maintenance instructions and standard operating procedures
• Document all work performed on inspection reports and travelers/work orders
• Performs in-process inspection of all parts and/or assemblies in accordance with the requirements stated in the work order or as otherwise stated on drawings or work instructions
• Performs visual inspection both unaided and using microscopes
• Performs various dimensional inspection using specific gauges, measuring tools or dimensional inspection systems
• Deburr parts as required
• Verify calibration on tools, gages, fixtures
• Adjust machine offsets and work coordinates with supervision
• Observe all Viant Safety procedures and use of proper PPE
• Follow company safety procedures and OSHA lockout-tag out regulations for equipment under power
• Performs additional duties as requested

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge/Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

Job Experience:

• Minimum 1 year experience in relevant manufacturing environment, preferably in a machine shop

Skills/Competencies:

• Ability to learn to read and interpret blueprints
• Demonstrated experience using various measurement tools (tool maker scope, calipers, micrometers, etc.)
• Ability to understand defects and have quality awareness

Physical Requirements:

• Light work: Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
