Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a communications contractor to support vertical communications across health, education, and personal finance. This role emphasizes trust, clarity, and responsible storytelling as OpenAI’s models and ChatGPT capabilities are explained to real-world audiences.

You will move quickly from strategy to execution, partnering with product, policy, legal, marketing, research, and communications teams to deliver credible narratives and timely campaigns.

Qualifications

• Excellent writing and editing skills for technical and policy topics.
• Ability to manage multiple launches, campaigns, and deadlines.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams across product, policy, legal, marketing, and research.

Responsibilities

• Support launch execution for priority vertical moments, from messaging development and launch planning to media strategy and post-launch follow-through.
• Own ongoing proactive campaigns across verticals, building calendars and moving ideas to execution.
• Translate complex technical work into clear, audience-specific narratives for health, education, and personal finance audiences.
• Draft and refine communications materials including messaging, pitches, briefs, talking points, FAQs, launch plans, and media strategies.
• Monitor external sentiment, media narratives, and emerging risks to protect the brand and unblock workstreams.
• Build trusted cross-functional relationships to create clarity in fast-moving projects.
