OpenAI, Inc. is seeking a Community Communications Lead to bring our products closer to communities and amplify stories across organic channels.

You will shape narratives, create earned media opportunities, and coordinate with the Culture & Community Engagement team to connect campaigns with diverse audiences in a hybrid work model in SF or NYC. You’ll cultivate journalist and creator relationships, surface community voices, and drive participation across months.

Qualifications

• Experience leading communications for consumer brands, cultural campaigns, creator initiatives, or community programs.
• Excellent writing and editing with ability to unify multiple moments into a larger story.

• Develop overarching narrative across campaigns that resonates with press and creators.
• Build relationships with journalists, creators, and cultural voices.
• Surface compelling builders and communities to tell authentic stories.

• Sustain a multi-month rhythm of stories across campaigns and partnerships.
• Develop pitches, features, spokesperson opportunities, and channel content.
• Coordinate with regional teams to align local voices with the global narrative.
• Gather community feedback to inform product communications planning.
