Job summary

Mercy Health in Lorain, OH seeks an Occupational Therapist for inpatient and outpatient float coverage at Mercy Lorain Hospital and Amherst Outpatient Clinics. The role is full-time with 40 hours weekly, days and afternoons, including weekend/holiday rotation.

You will evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, design adaptive equipment, coordinate with the care team, and teach staff and families. Requires OT license in the state and BLS within 30 days; two years of experience preferred; strong

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of current practice (required)
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, required within 30 days)
• 2 years of experience in equivalent setting (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Review physician referral, patient condition and medical history to determine OT treatment needs.
• Performs and documents patient evaluation, re-evaluation and develops treatment and discharge plans per department policies and procedures.
• Plans and administers medically prescribed OT treatments to patients.
• Designs adaptive equipment for work and living environments.
• Plans activities to improve functional, pre-vocational, vocational, and daily living skills.
• Coordinates care with the treatment team and communicates with family.
• Instructs patient and family in home treatment procedures.
• Mentions supervision of students and direction of assistants/trainees.
• Maintains productivity and ensures quality care.
• Attends meetings and trainings to maintain competency.
